Melissa's Bio
Melissa is a Financial Analyst II for the IT Department with Fairfax County Public Schools. During her time with FCPS, she has taken many opportunities made available to her to enhance her leadership skills. She utilizes these skills to help seize opportunities for PWLT to reach new goals.
Melissa graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, but her love of theater was awakened during her years at Patrick Henry Community College. She performed in shows under the tutelage of Dan Spaugh, and her love for theatre grew with each show. Life things happened that took Melissa away from the theatre. Luck would have it that she would meet her husband who was already involved in the local DMV theater scene, which reignited her love for theater. Melissa likes to play mostly behind the scenes but has “graced” the stage briefly in a couple of productions over the years.
Melissa has been recognized by DC Metro Theatre Arts for excellence in directing for PWLT’s critically acclaimed production of The Who’s Tommy.
