Michelle's Personal Statement
Since becoming involved with PWLT in the summer of 2013, I have had the opportunity to serve in many different areas of production, including costume design, sound design, and directing. These experiences have given me a strong appreciation for both the creative and technical work that allows our productions to succeed.

One area I am especially passionate about is costume and wardrobe organization. Over the years, I have helped where I can with organizing PWLT’s wardrobe storage, and I also have experience maintaining costume collections in both school and semi-professional theatre settings. I believe that caring for these resources is important for the efficiency and success of future productions.

Beyond production work, I care deeply about the sense of community that PWLT creates. I believe play selection is one of the most important parts of community theatre, requiring a balance between choosing productions that excite audiences and selecting shows that inspire people to volunteer their time and talents behind the scenes. I enjoy encouraging people to become involved with community theater, and I am always happy to help teach and support others who are interested in learning theatre skills. I believe one of PWLT’s greatest strengths is its ability to welcome people of all experience levels and help them find a place where they belong.

If elected, I would be honored to support PWLT’s continued growth and help ensure that it remains a welcoming, creative, and well-supported second home for our members and community, just as it has been for me.
