Prince William Little Theatre continues its 27th season with the musical "Baby" opening February 10 for two weekends at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas. “Baby” is a Tony-nominated musical with a book by Sybille Pearson, based on a story developed with Susan Yankowitz, music by David Shire, and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and first ran on Broadway in 1983. Three couples, each newly expecting a child, have different but familiar reactions. Liz and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, are trying to get pregnant. Arlene, already the mother of three grown daughters, is unsure of what to do while her husband Alan is thrilled with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby. Baby is directed by longtime PWLT member and co-founder Susy Moorstein with choreography by Chrissy Janoski. Featuring a full band under the musical direction of C. Milton Rodgers III, the show stars Annie Ermlick, Darren Marquardt, Joshua Wilson, Meredith Ford, Becca Harney and Jason Frye. Ensemble members include Larry Keeling, Ken Adams, Cana J. Wade, Tina Mullins, Caelyn Ryberg, Chrissy Janoski, and Dan Bellotte. 'Red Scare on Sunset' By: Charles Buesch Opens in June 2012
Off-Broadway hit is set in 1950's Hollywood during the blacklist
days. Mary Dale is a musical comedy star who discovers to her
horror that her husband, her best friend, her director and houseboy
are all mixed up in a communist plot to take over the movie
industry. Among their goals is the dissolution of the star system!
Both right and left are skewered in this comic melodrama.
Opens June 2011
Prince William Little Theatre is partly funded by grants from the Prince William County Parks Authority/Arts Council and the City of Manassas and by your United Way Contributions. |
