William Little Theatre continues its 27th season with the musical "Baby"
opening February 10 for two weekends at the Hylton Performing Arts
Center in Manassas. “Baby” is a Tony-nominated musical with a book by
Sybille Pearson, based on a story developed with Susan Yankowitz, music
by David Shire, and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and first ran on
Broadway in 1983.
Three couples, each newly expecting a child, have different but familiar
reactions. Liz and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in
together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, are
trying to get pregnant. Arlene, already the mother of three grown
daughters, is unsure of what to do while her husband Alan is thrilled
with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters
experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and
the comic highs that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby.
Baby is directed by longtime PWLT member and co-founder Susy Moorstein
with choreography by Chrissy Janoski. Featuring a full band under the
musical direction of C. Milton Rodgers III, the show stars Annie Ermlick,
Darren Marquardt, Joshua Wilson, Meredith Ford, Becca Harney and Jason
Frye. Ensemble members include Larry Keeling, Ken Adams, Cana J. Wade,
Tina Mullins, Caelyn Ryberg, Chrissy Janoski, and Dan Bellotte.
This tale of love, laughter and impending parenthood will be performed
in the Gregory Family Theatre at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on
February 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 8 PM (Fridays and Saturdays) and Saturdays
and Sundays February 11, 12, 18, 19 at 2 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults,
$15 for students, seniors and groups of 10 or more. Ticket information
can be found at
The Hylton Performing Arts Center.
